Principal's Message

Dear Cigarroa Family,

Spring is around the corner, and our Cigarroa family is looking forward to a productive, successful and exciting second semester. Students, teachers and staff are preparing for the next important round of testing in March for English I & II, the week of March 29th through April 1st.  The students have been attending tutorials all year, and we expect great things from them. We are also happy to announce our new online registration will be available for the next school year.  We are asking parents to please register with our Parent Liaison Teresa Aguirre.  She will help parents activate accounts for their students with an email address.  Please stop by our school as soon as possible to register with your email or one that she will help you create.  Ms. Aguirre's direct phone line is 273-7056.  Check out our school calendar for all of the upcoming events this year including senior activities, sports events and school functions.  Some of the most anticipated events include Skills USA for Criminal Justice and Auto Technology March 26th, the Toro Legends on April 8th, Career Day on March 17th, and many senior events are scheduled, such as Senior Prom, Breakfast and Fashion Show.  We also want to congratulate all of the organizations that have been making us Toro Proud with victories and trophies. There are many hard working and dedicated students and coaches bringing us pride and success daily.  Just to name a few, our girls' basketball team recently made it to the Regional Quarter Finals, our cheerleaders took 1st place at the NCA Cheerleading Championships, the Silver Roses received an award for having the highest GPA's at their competition, the Sabas-Perez Magnet robotics' students qualified for State in San Antonio, and we also had top prizes at the District Science Fair, Interact Youth Rotary, HOSA and DECA.  Congratulations to all! Good luck to all of our organizations and teams, and thanks to everyone for supporting the Cigarroa Toros, the pride of South Laredo.  We look forward to seeing everyone at all these wonderful activities.

Go Toros!

Sincerely,

Laura M. Flores, Principal
