Congratulations to Yamariz Guadian for being selected as a vocal finalist on the prestige Mariachi Competition FESTIBA at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in Edingburg Texas. Yamariz was selected as a finalist for the vocal competition out of hundreds of students that submitted their registration. Yamariz Guadian, 8th grade student, will be representing Christen Middle School and Laredo ISD together with Christen Middle School Mariachi Los Tigrillos de Oro on February 28th-March 1st, and will be learning and judge by Grammy Award- Winning Mariachi Sol De Mexico.

MathCounts competition which included almost 200 competitors.

Congratulations to our 8th graders David Morales, Carlos Olvera, Dariel Coronado, and Rodolfo Barrientos who advanced to the state competition! Their team was among the top 5 middle schools in the MathCounts Competition hosted yesterday at TAMIU by the Engineers Association. Our students will be flying to Dallas, TX. on March 7 with their coach Ms. Cortinas.

Valentine's Day Gifts
Congratulations to Mariachi Los Tigrillos De Oro Region students that participated in the all TMEA Region 14 Mariachi clinics and concert. They spent a weekend with a member from the famous Grammy Award winning Mariachi Divas.

As a precautionary measure due to events occurring outside our campus, we have placed our school on a Secure status. This means that all gates are closed to in-and-out traffic to ensure the highest level of safety for our students and staff. Please rest assured that students will continue their normal activities inside the school building. Our staff is actively monitoring the situation, and we will provide updates as soon as the status changes.
This event is unrelated to immigration and was initiated by the Laredo Police Department due to events taking place outside of our campus. No students or staff will enter or leave the campus until further notice. Thank you for your understanding and support as we prioritize the safety of our school community.

Como medida de precaución debido a eventos que ocurren fuera de nuestro campus, hemos colocado nuestra escuela en estado de Seguridad. Congratulations to our Christen Middle School Mariachi Los Tigrillos de Oro program. Mariachi Los Tigrillos de Oro JV and Varsity competed at the UIL solo and ensemble at United High School. Both mariachi groups received 1st division and received 48 1st division medals.
