Principal's Message

We are now in our second month of school, and it has been wonderful to see our students settling into routines, growing in confidence, and working hard each day. Last month, we focused on the character trait of Responsibility-taking ownership of our actions, choices, and learning. Our students showed great effort in being responsible both in and out of the classroom. This month, we will build upon that foundation by focusing on the trait of Friendship. Friendship means being kind, supportive, and understanding toward others. When students show responsibility, it helps them become dependable friends, and when they practice true friendship, it creates a stronger, more caring school community. I'd also like to remind everyone about the importance of daily attendance-being present every day makes a big difference in student success. Please also help us by following our arrival and dismissal times, which ensures smooth and safe transitions for all students. September will be a busy and exciting month. We begin with a district holiday on September 1st in observance of Labor Day. On September 5th, we will celebrate our first College and Career Readiness Day of the year, when students are encouraged to show their school spirit by wearing a shirt from their favorite college or university. Additionally, we will host a Grandparents Day photo opportunity event on September 8th -a flyer with more details will be sent home soon. On September 11th, we will hold a special commemoration ceremony to honor and remember, and we extend a warm invitation to first responders and military personnel who have a child enrolled at our school to join us. Looking ahead, the Gifted and Talented referral window opens on September 15th, giving families the opportunity to submit referrals. The first six weeks will come to a close on September 19th, and we welcome you for Report Card Night on September 24th. We are excited for the start of the 2nd six weeks of school and continued learning, growth, and celebrations that this month will bring. Thank you for your continued partnership in helping our students build responsibility, friendship, and confidence as we move forward together. M. Martinez, Principal
